I’m fascinated by the movement of the wheel, and like to feel that movement in the pots I make and use.  Often I intentionally add “movement” to finished pots, using a rib on the smooth surface to introduce dramatic throwing lines.

I fire my functional pots to Cone 6 in an electric kiln.  Currently, most of the glazes I use are commercial glazes that I’ve found to work well with the buff stoneware clay I prefer.   A few of these pots (the blues, mostly) I made in a class I took at Maryland Hall for Creative Arts in Annapolis, MD, so those glazes were mixed and fired there.
